As its title of the suggests, this course involves an analysis of knowledge – its nature, development, discovery, acquisition, manipulation and retention. This class is a requirement for any student wishing to complete the full IB Diploma. While there is no final externally assessed examination in this subject, students will be required to submit a comprehensively researched essay to the IB for external assessment. There is also an oral presentation by students in the 12th Grade year that further contributes to the IB Diploma. In addition, students will be assessed internally through written assignments, projects and other activities which will make up the quarter and semester grades.
The Extended Essay (EE), a 4000-word research paper in any IB subject, and Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) are managed through the TOK classes.
