At St Mary’s, we approach the question of academic honesty very seriously. It lies at the core of our values and helps to define who we are as a school. In the IB Program, academic honesty and integrity are central to our methodologies, and a high standard is set among the student and faculty bodies. At the IB level, faculty set the standards for academic honesty in the classrooms, and the IB Coordinator reinforces this with class meetings and IB publicity on the subject. The school also utilizes the ‘Turnitin’ plagiarism check program, and teachers are required to monitor carefully all internally and externally assessed student work. During examinations, a stringent set of procedures is followed to ensure the highest standards of security and honesty.
